Since 1972, as California’s pioneer service of self-help divorce, our Divorce Centers have assisted thousands of satisfied customers to successfully obtain a divorce quickly and without the hassle and high cost of attorneys.
Our Divorce Centers are for people who have already made up their minds that they want an UNCONTESTED divorce.
Our service will assist you in uncontested matters by completing and filing the required documents with the court. In most cases no court appearance is necessary. You make the decisions, we do most of the work.
California law allows people to obtain a divorce without fault or blame on the grounds of “Irreconcilable Differences”.
If you can decide for yourself regarding the matters of division of property, custody of minor children and support, then you can do your own divorce. It’s simply a matter of paperwork, and that’s what we do.
We maintain a referral network of mediators, counselors and community services.
The California Association of Legal Document Assistants recognized our Centers in 1997 for our 25 years of contribution to the legal access movement. Our Centers have been commended by the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the Pro Bono Project of Santa Clara County in recognition of outstanding contributions to the delivery of Pro Bono services in California.
We are not lawyers and we do not give legal advice. We can only provide self-help services at your specific direction.
We use the Nolo Press book, “How to do your own Divorce In California”, which provides a great deal of information that you will find helpful in making your decisions about your divorce.
Our fee for a divorce is $429.00. The additional cost of your County’s filing fee is approximately $320.00.
If you qualify as low income or if you receive SSI/SSP, CalWORKS, Food Stamps and/or County Relief we can assist you to obtain a waiver of the Court filing fees.
